Fear-Free Youth Campaign in Rubavu

The campaign’s expansion to Rubavu was inspired by the recognition that fear-related issues affect youth in every part of the country. Many young individuals find themselves trapped in destructive behaviors, including drug abuse, prostitution, and other harmful habits, often driven by fears such as the fear of life’s uncertainties, the fear of not fitting in, and the fear of rejection.

The event was centered on bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the youth, offering them a way out of the destructive cycles of fear. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with more than 100 individuals making the decision to follow Jesus and embrace the promise of freedom from fear and brokenness.

A powerful aspect of the Fear Free Campaign was the testimonies shared by young individuals who courageously spoke about their personal struggles with fear and the transformation they experienced when they turned to God. Many shared how God had rescued them from the distressing situations they had found themselves in due to fear, offering hope and healing.

The event also featured dynamic worship sessions, with worshippers from both Rwanda and the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo coming together in unity to lift their voices in praise. This cross-border connection further emphasized the shared challenges faced by youth in the region and the collective power of faith in overcoming fear.

This 2nd edition of the Fear Free Campaign attracted a large audience from Gisenyi and surrounding areas, fostering a sense of community and solidarity in addressing the issues that young people face. The event served as a reminder that fear does not have to define one’s life and that through Christ, all things are possible. As the campaign ended, the participants were filled with renewed hope, empowered to live boldly and free from fear. The Fear Free Campaign continues to be an important initiative in reaching young people with a message of liberation, transformation, and the unwavering love of Christ.
